Terms of use

The rules for using SolarTradie, a free Australian guide to solar, battery, hot water and air conditioning installers and electricians.

What these terms cover

These terms govern how you use SolarTradie (solartradie.com), a free guide to solar, battery, hot water and air conditioning installers and electricians in Australia. By using the site you agree to them.

Not a design, a quote or advice

Our lists are a starting point for finding and comparing companies. They are not a system design, an energy assessment, a site inspection or a quote, and they are not technical, electrical, financial or legal advice. They cannot tell you what size system to buy, whether a price is fair or whether you qualify for a rebate, a discount or a loan.

A guide, not an installer

SolarTradie does not sell, design or install systems, carry out electrical or plumbing work, arrange finance, book installations or charge users. We make no promise about the accreditation, licences, insurance, prices, warranties or availability of any company, and whatever you agree is agreed between you and that company.

How the lists are made

Each list draws on public information about the companies in it, such as what customers say about them, the work they describe and their hours, and on the criteria explained on the page on how we select. Top places a company in a highlighted spot and Pro gives it a fuller page. Both are labelled, and neither is a check of the company or a recommendation from us.

Check before you sign

Details change, among them phone numbers, hours, prices, accreditations, licences and program rules, and we only review the lists periodically. Confirm what matters with the company, look up accreditation with Solar Accreditation Australia and licences with your state regulator, and read the current terms of any rebate or discount program yourself.

Company pages and the business area

By claiming a page, a person confirms they are entitled to manage it, that the company holds the accreditations, licences and insurance its work calls for, and that everything they publish is true and not misleading, including claims about savings, rebates or warranties. We can edit or take down content that falls short of that. Each plan’s terms appear in the business area.

What you must not do

Do not use the site for anything unlawful, harvest or copy its lists with automated tools, try to get into restricted areas, pretend to be someone else or another company, or give false details.

Ownership of the content

The name, design, texts, selection criteria and list order of SolarTradie belong to its owner or are used with permission. Linking to the site and quoting it with a credit is welcome. Copying a substantial part requires our permission.

Liability, law and changes

Rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded are not excluded by these terms. Otherwise, as far as the law allows, SolarTradie is not responsible for what listed companies say or do, or for the content of other sites. Australian law governs these terms. We may update them, and the version on this page is the one in force.
